India Hiring Report: September 2026

Headline Numbers

In September 2026, Recroid's job feed saw a total of 44,167 new postings globally. Of these, 13,479 were located in India. This means India accounted for 31% of all new postings. Notably, there were 168 new internships in India, and 35 postings included a pay figure. Additionally, 348 postings required zero years of experience, and 697 were marked as remote opportunities. A substantial number, 5,868, were read from employer career sites.

What Changed Against the Previous Month

Comparing September 2026 to August 2026, there was a significant increase in job postings. In August, only 26,118 postings were recorded globally, with 1,505 in India. This means the share of new postings in India rose from 6% in August to 31% in September. The number of new internships increased from 11 to 168, and postings with a pay figure went from 6 to 35. There were 348 postings asking for zero years of experience, up from 45 in August. Remote postings also saw a rise from 260 to 697. Overall, the change in new India postings was a remarkable 796% increase.

Skills Employers Asked For

Employers in India were keen on specific skills. Python topped the list with 1,336 mentions. SQL was next with 1,043 postings. Other in-demand skills included Go (846), Azure (845), Excel (843), SAP (801), AWS (794), CI/CD (722), Java (592), and DevOps (577).

Who Hired Most

Several companies were active in hiring. Genpact led with 404 new postings. Statestreet followed closely with 396. Mastercard and Tata Consultancy Services each had 381 postings. Micron Technology posted 367, while Paytm had 256. Caterpillar added 244, PwC had 228, Swiggy posted 208, and Novartis added 203 new jobs.
