About Big Human
Big Human is a full-service digital product agency in New York City. Since 2010 we’ve built 262 websites, 80 applications and 50 brands, and our work has been recognized by TIME, the Webby Awards, the Shorty Awards and Digiday. Our marketing team runs strategy, content, SEO/AEO and paid media for our clients and for Big Human itself.
The role
We’re hiring a senior writer to produce website and marketing content for our clients, with a focus on complex B2B and enterprise technology. This means product pages, solution pages, industry pages and educational content for companies whose buyers range from the people using the software every day to the executives signing off on it.
We use Claude for a lot of the heavy lifting in content production. You’ll use it to get to a strong first draft fast, then do the work that makes the content good: checking every claim, sharpening the language, protecting what the page needs to rank, and making sure the reader feels understood instead of talked at.
This is a part-time role for 10-20 hours/week. Our ideal candidate has working hours between 10 am and 6 pm EST Monday-Friday.
What you’ll do
Write and edit high volumes of website content across reusable page templates, working in sprints with clear weekly deliverables
Use Claude and our established content workflows to produce first drafts, then edit them into publishable copy
Turn technical products into plain language that a buyer can understand, without losing accuracy
Tailor messaging by audience: company size (enterprise, mid-market, small business) and buyer role (daily user, budget owner, executive)
Fact-check product and capability claims against source material and subject-matter experts, and flag anything that can’t be verified
Optimize content for search and AI answer engines using Clearscope, keyword targets and AEO structure (direct answers, FAQs, scannable formatting)
Work with client product marketers and other subject-matter experts, merge their feedback into our structure, and make the case for what should stay and why
Present editorial decisions, explaining what changed and why it’s better
Partner with designers by delivering headlines and structure early so design and content move in parallel
What you bring
5+ years of B2B content writing, ideally for enterprise software, SaaS or another technical category
Strong editing instincts. You can tell when a confident draft is wrong, vague or generic, and you know how to fix it
Experience writing with AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT as part of your production process, and a clear point of view on where they help and where they don’t
Working knowledge of SEO and AEO: keyword targeting, search intent and structuring content for both people and AI search
Comfort learning a complex product or industry quickly, through documentation, demos and interviews
The confidence to push back on a client rewrite, and the judgment to know when to give ground
Plain, direct writing. No jargon, no filler, no agency-speak
Experience managing multiple projects and hitting deadlines on a sprint schedule
Nice to have
Background in supply chain, logistics, fintech, legal tech or another operationally complex industry
Experience with Clearscope, Ahrefs, Semrush or similar tools
Experience writing for global audiences or content that will be translated
Experience with Asana, Figma and Google Workspace
A journalism or technical writing background
What this role isn’t
This is a writing and editing role. You’ll use Claude every day, but you won’t be responsible for building or maintaining the AI tools and workflows behind it. That work is owned separately so you can focus on the content.
