Position: Mechanical Engineer Type: Contract Compensation: $60–$90/hour Location: Remote Duration: 2 to 3 months Commitment: 40 hours/week Role Responsibilities Evaluate the quality of mechanical engineering tasks and model outputs . Identify incorrect assumptions, missing constraints, and unsafe design choices. Write clear instruction specs and produce reference solutions for mechanical engineering problems. Define tasks reflecting real-world engineering practices. Design challenging tasks and evaluation sets in areas like mechanical design and thermal systems. Collaborate with the research team to build domain-specific tools. Work with client researchers to maintain consistent standards. Translate engineering judgment into explicit, teachable criteria. Provide precise, well-structured written feedback to improve AI model performance . Qualifications Must-Have Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in industry. Genuine ownership of real engineering work, such as designing components or systems. Fluency with engineering tools like SolidWorks , CATIA , NX , Creo , AutoCAD , ANSYS , Abaqus , or MATLAB . Familiarity with standards like ASME , ASTM , ISO , and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 . Experience with large language models in professional work. Compensation & Legal W-2 employment with Cincinnatus LLC.
